Install XCache on CentOS 7

XCache is a fast, stable PHP opcode cacher that has been tested and is now running on production servers under high load. It is tested on Linux and FreeBSD and supported under Windows, for thread-safe and non-thread-safe versions of PHP

This relatively new opcode caching software has been developed by mOo, one of the developers of Lighttpd, to overcome some of the limitations of the existing solutions at that time; such as being able to use it with new PHP versions as they arrive.

Step 1 : - Install the EPEL Repository
XCache is part of Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL), which is a community repository of non-standard packages for the RHEL distribution. First, we’ll install the EPEL repository:
sudo rpm -iUvh http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/x86_64/e/epel-release-7-5.noarch.rpm
Step 2 : - Install the XCache
Before start the installation we just update our server through following command line
sudo yum -y update
Then let’s install XCache and any required packages:
sudo yum -y install php-xcache xcache-admin
Step 3 :- Verify the Extension is Available
Now verify that the extension is available by using the following command:
php -m | grep XCache
Your result should be:
XCache
XCache Cacher
XCache Coverager
XCache Optimizer
XCache
XCache Cacher
XCache Coverager
XCache Optimizer
Listing the PHP version should now include information about XCache as well:
php -v
